It was a Cancun wedding photographer day With a different ceremony, they jumped the broom as a symbol of sweeping away the old and welcoming the new. This is a ceremony dating back to 1600´s and derived from Africa where slaves used to do it and now it has been part of weddings for couples who want to honor it. The “Jumping the Broom” is a ceremony in which the bride and groom, either at the ceremony or at the reception, signify their entrance into a new life and their creation of a new family by symbolically “sweeping away” their former single lives, former problems and concerns, and jumping over the broom to enter upon a new adventure as wife and husband. This time we had the opportunity to shoot this wedding in Puerto Aventuras, Riviera Maya. This beach gives you very nice spots to take advantage of. The rocky side is great for pictures during the afternoon. If you are planning to have a wedding in Puerto Aventuras, please let me know and I can give you some recommendations on different options you may have according to your needs. Thank you guys for sharing your tradition and for allowing Joaquin Mastrand Cancun wedding photographer to be part of your wedding day.
